At a press conference held in Hyderabad, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board member and BJP leader Bhanu Prakash Reddy broke down in tears while addressing the growing controversy surrounding the Parakamani (temple offering counting) issue, which has now become a major topic of debate across both Telugu states.
Speaking emotionally, Reddy alleged that those involved in the Parakamani theft case must be held accountable and punished strictly. He expressed deep anguish, saying that Lord Venkateswara, revered as the supreme deity and protector of crores of Hindus worldwide, had been left without protection during the previous YSRCP government’s rule. He stated that one individual had stolen money from the Parakamani, while others shared the looted amount, and insisted that every person involved in the act must face justice.
Reddy strongly criticized the previous administration, accusing it of shielding the culprits instead of punishing them, and claimed that such inaction was a grave insult to the faith of millions.
In a deeply emotional moment, he said that he was ready to face any consequence in his pursuit of truth. “Whether I live or not, I am not afraid,” he declared, revealing that he had been receiving threats and was being pressured not to hold the press meet, yet he remained firm in his resolve. He emphasized that his family fully supports him in this fight and that he harbors no personal enmity against anyone involved — his only goal is to ensure justice is served.
Prominent personalities who attended the press meet included LV Subramanyam, former Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh; Chilkur Rangarajan, head priest of Chilkur Balaji Temple; JD Lakshmi Narayana, former CBI director; Thalapaka Raghavan, advocate; Satya Ravi Kumar from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad; and Ranjani Kumar, former Vigilance Central Commission officer.
Together, they stood in solidarity with Bhanu Prakash Reddy, reinforcing the demand for a transparent investigation and justice in the Parakamani case.
