Summons issued by Delhi police to Revanth reveals he is only a witness for Now

Hyderabad : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy notices served to Revanth Reddy were only under sections 91 and Section 160 of CRPC, which are summons to produce documents and as a witness, respectively. Delhi police is yet to made the FIR public so it’s not known who are named as accused.
However notices were issued only under 160/91 of Criminal Procedure Code.
Section 91 of CRPC states that any officer in charge of a police station for any investigation can issue a summons in writing to produce the document. Section 160 Crpc powers the Police officer to issue summons seeking witness attendance.

Advocate Sowmya Gupta, after submitting a reply to Delhi Police, told the media, “I submitted a reply on behalf of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. The notice was served as a witness. In the notice, they have asked for the device that has been used to share the video using the INCTelangana handle. We have replied that he is not the owner of the INC Telangana handle. CM’s personal account and official account are publicly known.”

In the original video, from his speech on April 23, 2023, at Chevella, Amit Shah was seen saying, “If the BJP is voted to power, then the unconstitutional Muslim reservation will be ended in the state. This right belongs to Telangana’s SC, ST, and OBC communities, and they will get this right. We will end Muslim reservations.”
