‘Narendra Modi’s ascent and decline’ By Prakash Surya

Modi’s passion for the nation, his unwavering commitment to work, his leadership abilities, and his unwavering focus, tenacity, and single-minded pursuit to elevate the nation are all tremendously exceptional. He is a leader who avoids corruption and is an exceptional administrator. Now Nation Mood is different. BJP’s significant drop in seats may be linked to ignoring Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and underestimating ‘Mamata Benerjee’ political acumen and over dependence of ‘Modi factor’ and few among other things. His ambitious slogan “Ab ki baar, 400 paar,” aiming for more than 400 seats for his NDA alliance, may have backfire due to party’s over confidence.Prime Minister Modi  faced setback in Uttar Pradesh (UP),irrespective of fire brand Chief Minister Yogi adityanath.Modi gained popularity, turning his image into that of an iconic figure with a pure demeanor. He greatly benefited from the weak opposition and the presence of right-wing organizations in his image-building efforts. The election results indicate that Brand Modi has somewhat lost its luster and that it has lost its MP seat in ‘Ayodhya’, which is a major blow to the BJP and to him personally. Put differently, he is not as unbeatable as many of his fans thought. This gives the opposition newfound hope.India has experienced turbulent coalition Governments in the past. The BJP must take a more thoughtful and collaborative stance. Its reliance leaves it open to disintegration in the event that allies perceive neglect. Unlike in 2014 and 2019, the party is now dependent on allies, despite earlier being thought to be all-powerful. There are other Prime Ministers in Indian politics besides Modi. For many years after Independence the Congress ruled without a break, now it’s fate not crossing 100 figure being strong opposition party. The 2024 general election results indicate that people have rejected Modi and BJP at large extent.Following the crushing setback on a personal, political, and moral level on June 4th, Modi’s credibility and aura have been eroded to just one-third, and he now depends on others to ensure his political survival.                                                                                                                      Prakash Surya
