Fundamentally, Nehru was a great liberal democrat and a classical liberal who campaigned for national and international civil rights as well as press freedom and encouraged freedom of thought into intellectual freedom. That was a noteworthy aspect of his half-century political career. Nehru was a secular leader as well, and he supported tolerance for all religions. This gives religion permission to influence politics and political processes unduly. He was a socialist leader because he believed that economic democracy could coexist with socialism and that both secularism and democracy were inclusive. Because Nehru thought that democracy had a worldwide component, I kept fighting against racism, imperialism, colonialism, fascism, and expanded human rights over the globe.
