In Wardhannapet, the second phase of the Janahita Padayatra, led by Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud, received an overwhelming public response. On the second day, the padayatra began from Illandu Market and continued up to Ambedkar Chowrasta in a spirited atmosphere. People accorded a rousing welcome to Mahesh Goud, with women showering flowers on him at several places.
AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan attended the program as the chief guest. On this occasion, Congress cadres felicitated the TPCC chief with massive garlands. Thousands of party workers, supporters, and local people joined the march, walking step by step alongside the TPCC president in a show of solidarity.
Women participated in large numbers, adding to the festive mood, while youth enthusiastically joined the march. Cultural performances and traditional dances further entertained the crowds, with fireworks adding to the celebrations.
Several senior leaders participated in the padayatra, including Government Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, Ministers Konda Surekha, Deputy Speaker Ramachandra Naik, MLAs Makkan Singh Raj Thakur, Nagaraju, Gandra Satyanarayana, Murali Naik, Nayini Rajender Reddy, Yasaswini Reddy, MP Balaram Naik, MLC Shankar Naik, Telangana Youth Congress president Jakkidi Shiva Charan Reddy, Mayor Gundu Sudharani, TPCC Vice President Jhansi Rani, Namindla Srinivas, and other prominent leaders.
As part of the padayatra, Mahesh Kumar Goud paid floral tributes to Ambedkar statues at various places. He also interacted warmly with beneficiaries of government welfare schemes, listening to their concerns. Before the padayatra began, women welcomed him grandly with drumbeats and traditional “bonalu” celebrations, creating a festive atmosphere.
Earlier in the day, the TPCC president, along with AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, participated in a Shramadanam (voluntary labor program) at the Choppadandi-Gangadhara Boys Hostel and planted saplings, spreading awareness on environmental protection.
After the Shramadanam, Mahesh Goud proceeded from Choppadandi to Wardhannapet for the padayatra, where leaders, workers, and citizens gave him a rousing reception at every step, felicitating him with shawls and giant garlands.
The successful second day of the TPCC chief’s Janahita Padayatra has infused fresh enthusiasm among Congress cadres across the undivided Warangal district, with party circles believing it has strengthened confidence in the leadership.
