In the wake of the Pahalgam terrorist attack, a war-like atmosphere has emerged between India and Pakistan. In response, the central government has taken a sensational decision. The Union Home Ministry has proposed conducting mock drills on May 7 to involve civilians in national security preparedness.
The aim is to create awareness among youth and students on how to protect themselves during enemy attacks and how to respond appropriately to sirens and alerts. Through this program, citizens will learn how to act in the event of a preemptive strike by Pakistan.
Reportedly, preliminary instructions have already been issued to the states of Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Himachal Pradesh. The mock drills are intended to educate the public on how to respond calmly and effectively to aerial or other attacks without panic.
