This is one of the few excellent films in history that the Oscar Awards Committee has never honored. What took place in the global film industry’s history? In 1994, “The Shawshank Redemption” hit theaters. The novel “Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption” by Stephen King served as the basis for the movie. After starting of making horror films, Frank Derabont went on to become a favorite director of many moviegoers worldwide, including myself. He sees films as a tool, a way to address the various atrocities that exist in society. The film’s plot resolves itself for the story and the characters through the lives of two individuals who served time in prison, their struggles for the lives of innocent people who frequently wind up there, and their emotions. The film’s director is Frank Derabont. This movie excels in making the audience feel as though they are travelling with and getting along with the characters because it doesn’t overdo the dramatics, instead letting the audience experience the inner wealth and sorrow of those who spend time behind bars. The thought-provoking notion raises the possibility that those who have served lengthy prison terms are unable to function in society outside of it, which makes them a haven for suicide. This movie demonstrates how a story and a screenplay may be created based on the opinions of the viewer. Roger Dearkins’ cinematography is remarkable. Thomas Newman’s music captivates us.                                               By.Prakash Surya
